Alumni Association Note from the SEDAA President School of Environmental Design Alumni Association Revival Now that the College of the Environment has been established and is off to a running start, it is time to revive the School of Environmental Design Alumni Association. We have been quiet the past few years as the Institute of Ecology and The School of Environmental Design have merged. Although our school is now part of the College of the Environment, the SEDAA has chosen to maintain our name as it is an identity evolved over seventy-five years of familiar faces. Building on the great experience of our 75th Anniversary Reunion this past April, we have been charged with the task of re-establishing the SEDAA. An open meeting to discuss the future of the SEDAA brought out more than thirty-five fellow alumni ranging in graduation year from 1947 to 2003. Our efforts, though, are only as strong as the efforts of you, our fellow alumni. In order to be successful, we need more involvement to keep our organization strong. The new mission of the SEDAA is strictly to unite our more than 2,000 alumni and create opportunities for social and professional interaction among us. The SEDAA will rebuild with the sole focus of encouraging a closer spirit of fellowship among the membership in support of the common thread we all share, the love of our school. In addition to developing the program for our Alumni Weekend, the SEDAA will also work toward establishing lines of communication among our group. This will be through our recently created discussion group, where we can turn to our compatriots for advice and ideas just like the old days in the studio, to creating regional social events such as golf tournaments, happy hours, and other get-togethers. Our alumni are spread throughout the world, so we should meet throughout the world. This is our focus as we enter a new era - to create a worldwide network of alumni and old friends. Please give us your full support and ideas to make the SEDAA the organization you deserve. Thank you, Clay Mooney
