Melissa Roberts is the coordinator for the Georgia Historic Resource
Survey Partnership, FindIt. As an employee of the SED Public Service
and Outreach office, she works closely with Historic Preservation
graduate assistants to identify and inventory historic houses in
rural areas. Working with the Historic Preservation Division and
statewide Regional Development Centers, she identifies counties
in need of historic resource surveys. She holds bachelor degrees in Political
Science and History from Furman University. She has a Master in
Historic Preservation from the University of Georgia, where she
focused her thesis work on historic interpretation of the American
cemetery. Her interests include historic cemetery revitalization,
rural architectural analysis, and community design.
